Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!

Time really flies...CNY holidays are over and done with. Now it's back to a week of studies and preparation for the long-awaited Judgement Day - the day where our one month's effort wil be tested on and the time for us to feel the adrenaline rush. Yes, the BIG presentation will be on tomorrow.

Never thought that doing research is this tough. True that we do it in a group but we were only given a month to complete this project. Really hope tomorrow will go on smoothly and we will be able to give good answers to any questions thrown at us. At first, I really doubted I will take up Degree in Nursing because it is A LOT of work and it is really not easy to complete the 2-year degree. But, at the end of the completion of our project, my mind changed. I still think it is quite possible to take up degree. But in nursing, experience is very important in advanced nursing studies. Women are capricious. LOL!

Things may not be promising at all times but at the end of the day, work still need to be completed. And when it is done, everyone will heave a sigh of relief. I'm also quite relieved that I received my new shirt for presentation in time. I'm such a klutz. I actually left it at my boyfriend's place as we were in a rush to leave -_-'''

Luckily I got it in time.

OK. Enough about the boring stuffs about work. I had lots of fun last week when I went back to Johor for CNY. Though the first few days before CNY were quite boring but I enjoyed myself. OK, will stop crapping already and let the pics speak for itself. Here it goes:

my last minute CNY shopping

SEED bag (original price rm69.90)...got it for just rm20.70! STEAL!

dining at Paddington's...love the pancakes...they do flip it right!

my cousin's cute 3 1/2 mth old baby gal who weighs a whopping 7 kg!! just look at how chubby she is...

camwhoring at Melaka...

first day of CNY...

Haih! Bad connection. Will load part II next time. Bye...

P/S: Next week I will be posted at the Accident & Emergency Department (A & E)...hope I will learn a lot there..

Yup. It is indeed a joy to be in one. The idea of doing a newly learnt procedure on a fellow friend sounds kinda scary. But, we don't have a choice. We have to do it in order to really learn and master the skill of how to do the procedure.

Today, my partner and I took each other's blood. As we are in Semester 6 (the last semester of my 3 years course) and we learn the subject on Emergency and Disaster Nursing, we have to learn how to take blood and insert a cannula (that's the thingy that is inserted into someone's vein to give fluids and you will see either a drip going into someone's body or the needle will just be there for treatment purposes). Erm, hope I am not making you feel like you wanna sleep with those medical jargons. Anyway, so we pricked each other. And I succeeded!!! I manage to obtain my partner's blood. Of course you feel the excitement for the success but the moment you yourself kena poked, it is not a laughing matter. For the faint-hearted and cannot tahan a little pain kinda person, this will be the scary part as you have to endure the pain of a needle going into you. I consider myself as quite strong and not that pain-fear kinda person but I tell you, I really pray to God when the needle goes into me and told myself to stay strong and this is just part and parcel of learning. I poke you, you poke me. Fair right?

not for the faint-hearted...

I still remember during my first year when we learnt how to do bed bath or more commonly known as "sponging" for medical personnels. My teacher wanted a real model to be naked for the procedure!!! Luckily enough, she relented and approved of a girl wearing a swimsuit for the procedure to be done on her. My thought at that time was, what if there is a lesbian among the 59 of us gals. Won't she be very "untung"? My goodness, I can't imagine what is one that lesbian's mind when we are doing the demo on my poor swimsuit-clad friend. LOL! Apparently, I know of one gal who is a bi in my group. Yes, it is true. She admitted it herself.

Moving on to something straight (pun intended), I feel it's a fun experience so far and I enjoy my life as a student nurse here. Even when not everyday is a bed of roses and rainy days fall on me, but I still cross my fingers and hope for the best. I believe determination will get me through the next 5 months. Counting down....
